- In efforts to satisfy efforts to become a more sustainable planet, a customer builds a municipal solar heating plant in Europe.
- The PR 7501 Field Mount HART temperature transmitter is an ideal choice for operating such a large project.
- In addition, its easy-to-use operator interface offers a handy high-definition digital readout, radial bar graph, and process and diagnostic text.
CO2 neutral by 2030. That is the big goal of the municipality of Silkeborg in Denmark. Since opening the world’s largest solar heating plant this year, they will be able to reduce their annual emissions by approximately 15,700 tons.
In June 2017, the Danish utility company Silkeborg Forsyning and their contractor Arcon-Sunmark could celebrate the opening of the world’s largest solar heating plant. As a result, the project is moving the municipality of Silkeborg one step closer to being CO2 neutral by 2030. And we are proud to be a part of this with multiple units of the 7501 Field mount HART temperature transmitter in use at this facility.
The new plant, which has been built in only seven months, has thermal collectors covering an area of approximately 156,700 m2. It will produce 80,000 MWh per year, which will cover 20% of the annual need, when it comes to heating in Silkeborg. However, in the summer months, the plant will produce enough heat to cover all heating needs in the area.
The 7501 Field Mounted HART Temperature Transmitter in the World’s Largest Solar Heating Plant
Its design is ideal for the harsh and hazardous environments often found in today’s process industries. The PR 7501 features a single compartment explosion-proof / flame-proof design with various mounting and thread options. Moreover, global compliance is assured through a full range of hazardous area and marine approvals.
The PR 7501’s class-leading, high-definition display features a 5-digit read-out, radial bar graph, and process / diagnostic text. In addition, it includes an energy-efficient backlight, which can be white or red, and even flash on error conditions. Furthermore, it offers an extreme ease of use through its unique, patent-pending local operator interface.
