NIVOPRESS N submersible hydrostatic level transmitters are applicable for the continuous level measurement of clean liquids or liquids with slight chemical contamination in wells, open reservoirs, or tanks. This level transmitter is recommended for level detection of contaminated water. NIVOPRESS N from NIVELCO is available in screw-in or submersible level transmitter models and is easy to install in tanks and deep wells, and especially recommended for controlling submersible pumps.

The use of supplemental accessories is recommended for various applications. Using a sewage adapter, direct contact between the sewage and the diaphragm of the built-in hydrostatic pressure level sensor can be avoided. 2-wire types are available with built-in 4-wire Pt100 temperature sensor or a separate 2-wire temperature transmitter. 2-wire types have HART communication interface. Explosion proof models are available for hazardous environments.

NIVOPRESS N Hydrostatic Level Transmitter

The NIVOPRESS N hydrostatic borehole level transmitters are designed by NIVELCO to measure the level of clean or contaminated liquids. The pressure sensor at the bottom of the probe measures the hydrostatic pressure (Phydr) of the liquid column above it and compares with the atmospheric pressure (Patm). The atmospheric pressure is led to the hydrostatic level transmitter through a breathing capillary.

This capillary is equipped with a moisture filter that prevents moisture from reaching the electronics, which would decrease the accuracy of the measurement. This enables the atmospheric pressure to be subtracted from the measured pressure to get the hydrostatic pressure which is proportional to the height of the liquid column (h). The electronics convert the level transmitter signal into an output signal. If temperature measurement of the liquid is needed beside the level measurement, a combined level + temperature submersible level transmitter should be used.

Screw-in or Submersible Level Transmitter

The installation and wiring of the transmitter is helped by the wide variety of accessories. A sewage adapter working on the principle of the diving bell can be snapped (NP) or can be screwed (NZ) into the place of the protecting cap to avoid the direct contact between the sensor and the measured contaminated liquid.  An extra mechanical protection is built in the NZ type sewage adapters in the form of a mechanical filter. The N-500 are HazLoc rated models that can be used in hazardous environments. The NZ screw-in model transmitters are recommended for applications where there is a risk of flooding. The NB / NG plastic housing models are designed for applications where an aggressive medium (e.g. saline solutions or seawater) could cause galvanic corrosion of the stainless steel body.
