FlowTune, Flow Configuration Software

FlowTune, Flow Configuration Software

FlowTune is an offline instrument flow configuration software program for Bronkhorst digital flow instrumentation. It’s used to select the fluid set, change the full scale flow (capacity), change the engineering units, and to change or add a fluid or gas. The main features of FlowTune are:

  • activating a fluid set
  • changing the full scale flow (capacity) and its unit
  • adding or changing fluids to the instrument
  • changing the controller speed

Description

FlowTune is an offline instrument flow configuration software program that allows users to easily change the active fluid set, change the capacity of fluid sets, change / add fluids in / to the instrument and change the controller speed of the fluid sets.

FlowTune is ideal for digital flow instruction such as the Bronkhorst EL-FLOW Prestige, EL-FLOW Select, IN-FLOW (up to 1,670 ln/min), EL-FLOW Metal, and FLOW-SMS instruments.

Flow Configuration Using RS232 on Multibus Instrumentation

The RS232 interface on multibus instrumentation can connect to any RS232 V24 serial (computer) port. Make sure to refer to and follow the hook-up diagram. Additionally, we offer special cables for communication, which separates the RS232 lines from the power and analog input / output. On the 9-pin male D-sub connector of the instrument, RX and TX are available on pin 6 and pin 1.

RS232 communication is available through:

FlowTune is meant to be operated within its specified operation conditions and in an environment with pressure conditions of 10 bar (a) or less and temperatures between 32-158˚F (0-70°C). We do not advise using the software to configure instruments for use in an environment exceeding these conditions.

The unit type determines the conditions for expressing the capacity. For gas flow devices, four different unit types are available: Mass Flow, Normal Volume Flow, Standard Volume Flow, and Custom Volume Flow. Whereas for liquid flow instruments, only Mass Flow and Volume Flow are available. The unit type determines the unit list at unit.

The minimum and maximum full scale capacity is available on a slider. The unit that expresses capacities can change using the Unit function, after which the capacity in the previous unit converts to the capacity in the new unit. For instrument operation, this action has no effect other than changing the real output value and unit.
