- Many applications require special instrumentation that’s designed to meet safety standards in hazardous areas.
- Products that meet these safety standards require special certification from organized bodies that review and approve product safety.
- Our hazardous location pressure transducers, from Core Sensors, offer the certification necessary for use in hazardous areas.
Hazardous location pressure transducers are ideal for areas that require third party certifications to ensure safe operation in hazardous environments. We offer non-incendive and intrinsically safe pressure transducers with certification from CSA. ANSI/UL 122701 Single Seal is available on select sensors for Canadian installations. These pressure transducers are a good fit for a wide range of applications. For example, they are ideal for tank level (both submersible and external), oilfield installations, process plants, and CNG stations. Furthermore, various materials, fittings, and output signals are available with competitive lead times and prices.
ANSI/UL 122701 is a standard that “provides specific requirements for process sealing between electrical systems and flammable or combustible process fluids where a failure could allow the migration of process fluids directly into the electrical system.”

The Single Seal marking is now available for the CS50 Non-Incendive and also the CS80 Intrinsically Safe hazardous location pressure transducers. In addition to the Single Seal marking, they will have Class I, Division 2 Non-Incendive (Groups ABCD) (CS50) and Class I, Division 1 Intrinsically Safe (Groups ABCD) (CS80) approval markings.
The addition of this single seal certification increases flexibility for our pressure transducer manufacturer, Core Sensors. Most importantly, this allows them to manufacture pressure transducers in a more cost-effective manner while keeping the overall size of the sensor to a minimum.
CS50 Hazardous Location Pressure Transducer
The CS50 Non-Incendive Pressure Transducer is a high strength sensor for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. This pressure transducer also features an all welded stainless steel construction, which offers a minimum IP65 rating. A wide range of configurable options make this sensor a versatile pressure transducer. It’s ideal for operation in some of the harshest conditions. The CS50 hazardous location pressure sensor is an excellent solution for rugged industrial applications. For example, it’s a great choice for natural gas compression, hydrogen compression and storage, and process control instrumentation.
CS80 Intrinsically Safe Pressure Sensor
The CS80 Intrinsically Safe Pressure Transducer is an industrial quality pressure sensor for use in Class I, Division 1 intrinsically safe areas. The CS80 features an all welded stainless steel construction for a minimum IP65 rating. A wide range of configurable options make the CS80 a versatile pressure transducer that can operate in some the harshest conditions. Additionally, low power outputs are available. Because of this, the CS80 can operate off of 3-5 VDC of unregulated power to extend battery life in remote applications. Furthermore, this pressure sensor is an excellent solution for applications such as natural gas compression and oil exploration.
