Serial Modbus Receiver Unit

Serial Modbus Receiver Unit

The IIoT-6100 Series is a communications processor that’s paired with an external receiver (IIoT-6000) or it can be built with the receiver card internal to the enclosure. It provides a communication and data interface between IIoTTTI reporting systems and customer DCS systems via Modbus (ASCII or RTU) responses to customer polling commands for status and/or measurement data, or to a hosted, secure, remote server platform.

  • communications processor with integrated receiver
  • interfaces with most DCS operating systems utilizing Modbus protocol
  • integrated watchdog timers and auto run features

Description

  • data logging and integration to the cloud via Modbus protocol
  • can accommodate up to 15 Modbus boards
  • logic, control, and communication functions built-in with micro controller computer

Serial Modbus Receiver Unit

The IIoT-6100 series, from IIoT Technology Innovations, Inc. (IIoTTTI) is a serial Modbus Receiver Unit that contains a communications processor paired with an external receiver (IIoT-6000). Also, it can be built with the receiver card internal to the enclosure. It provides a communication and data interface between IIoTTTI reporting systems and customer DCS systems via Modbus (ASCII or RTU) responses to customer polling commands for status and/or measurement data, or to a hosted, secure, remote server platform.

All communication to the IIoT-6100 series is by wireless transmitters; communication to/from the IIoT-6100 series units to the customer’s DCS is by serial RS-232 or RS-485 connections for the Modbus commands/ responses or by cellular card to a secure, hosted off site platform with SolutioNet 4.0 portal for visualization. Logic, control, and communication functions are provided by a micro controller computer.

Use of a system watchdog timers and auto run features integrated into the hardware and multi-tasking operating system allow the IIoT-6100 series to automatically continue operations following system interruption due to power outages. This model is scalable to accommodate up to 15 Modbus boards allowing for large expansions of wireless sensors.

Advanced Wireless Data Transmission via Frequency Hopping

frequency-hopping-remote-wireless-transmitters-industrial-iot-instrumentation-remote-areas

Frequency hopping provides redundancy to reduce risk of losing a signal to interference or reception because its unique spread spectrum data transmission technique. This minimizes the effects of walls, structures, and terrain of the signal, which means these transmitters work well even in obscured areas. It also allows data to be secure on both the sending and receiving ends of the process.

These “Data Packets” are transmitted via a “Transmit Only” device in a binary format and the packet is then received and processed into our “Receive Only” Device that is integrated in our Serial Data Processing Unit. After, the data is deciphered into something that is meaningful that correlates to our data base, which is preconfigured at the factory with the field instruments.
