Remote Transmitting Unit (RTU)

Remote Transmitting Unit (RTU)

This Remote Transmitting Unit (RTU) base unit offers up to eight channels with independent programming for each channel and is expandable to up to 56 channels. It operates on AC or solar power and has an instantaneous battery backup system. The model IIOT-4000 Series devices also supply the 24 VDC loop power if required by the customer’s installed field instruments.

  • designed to interface with most 4-20 mA or discrete signals
  • integrates directly to PLC, SCADA, DCS, etc.
  • ideal for obstructed, congested, and remote areas
  • optional discrete signal can be added for high level alarming

Description

  • developed to interface with most 4-20 mA or discrete signals

  • can supply 24 VDC loop power if required by installed field instruments

Remote Transmitting Unit (RTU)

Our Remote Transmitting Unit (RTU) is capable of processing analog or digital protocols. This versatile instrument interfaces with most 4-20 mA or discrete signal sensors which may exist in the current environment or accept a multitude of IIoT Technology Innovations, Inc. (IIoTTTI) provided sensors such as accelerometers, pressure transducers, RTDs, thermocouples, and more.

The model IIoT-4000 Series base unit offers up to eight channels with independent programming for each channel and is expandable to up to 56 channels. It operates on AC or solar power and has an instantaneous battery backup system. The model IIOT-4000 Series devices also supply the 24 VDC loop power if required by the customer’s installed field instruments. As an option, an additional discrete signal can be added for high level alarming.

The approximate transmitting range is 3/4 mile (1.2 km). For greater distances, IIoTTTI Intelligent Repeaters expand the range up to 7 miles (11.3 km) or more. The IIoTTTI SolutioNet 4.0 integrated data connectivity system is ideal for the collection and transmission of data throughout a region or around the globe.

Advanced Wireless Data Transmission via Frequency Hopping

frequency-hopping-remote-wireless-transmitters-industrial-iot-instrumentation-remote-areas

Frequency hopping provides redundancy to reduce risk of losing a signal to interference or reception because its unique spread spectrum data transmission technique. This minimizes the effects of walls, structures, and terrain of the signal, which means these transmitters work well even in obscured areas. It also allows data to be secure on both the sending and receiving ends of the process.

These “Data Packets” are transmitted via a “Transmit Only” device in a binary format and the packet is then received and processed into our “Receive Only” Device that is integrated in our Serial Data Processing Unit. After, the data is deciphered into something that is meaningful that correlates to our data base, which is preconfigured at the factory with the field instruments.
