VA40 Variable Area Flow Meter

VA40 Variable Area Flow Meter

The VA40 is a variable area flow meter (VA meter), or rotameter, for flow measurement in basic municipal water and wastewater applications up to a maximum of 10 barg (145 psig) operating pressure and 212˚F (100˚C) operating temperature. The VA40, from KROHNE, is suitable for measuring liquids and gases with flow rates from 1 to several thousand gallons per hour.

  • MIN/MAX switches and 4-20 mA
  • with glass tube for visual product check (e.g. free from bubbles, color)
  • low pressure loss for gas applications
  • local indicator without auxiliary power
  • -4 to 212˚F (-20 to 100˚C); maximum 10 barg (145 psig)

Description

The VA40 is a glass tube variable area flow meter (VA meter), or rotameter, for flow measurement of liquids and gases. This all-purpose flow meter is suitable for all basic municipal water and wastewater applications up to 212˚F (100˚C) as well as a maximum of 10 bar (145 psi). Typical applications include flow measurement of flushing, purging, or inert gases in addition to heating and cooling water.

  • simple flow indicator that does not require a power supply
  • allows visual product check such as color, free from bubbles, etc.
  • suitable for use with either liquids and gases
  • analog measuring signal for recording and control purposes
  • flange options: DN15 to DN50 (0.5 to 2″)
  • NPT, G, hygienic connections, etc.

The VA40 variable area flow meter, from KROHNE, operates without auxiliary power supply. Furthermore, the measuring cone, protected by a metal sleeve with a viewing glass, makes it easy to directly read the flow and observe the medium. Moreover, this VA meter can also be equipped with two optional limit switches (MIN/MAX) or analog output (4-20 mA). The VA40 comes with multiple process connections options and is suitable for use in hazardous areas.
