ATEX Flow Cables, Zone 2 Cat. 3

These ATEX flow cables are for use with Bronkhorst flow instrumentation in ATEX Zone 2, Category 3 areas. They will connect hazardous area rated flow instrumentation to components outside of Zone 2 including readouts, flow control units such as the PSC6194, ethernet connections, or to the E-8000 Series. These cables offer DIN8, DB9, M12, and loose end wiring connection types. DIN8, DB9, and M12 connectors are ideal for creating secure connections that are still easy to connect and disconnect. And loose ends are intended for hard wiring flow instrumentation for a more permanent connection.

The ATEX Rating assigned to this flow instrumentation is governed by two EU directives. An ATEX Zone 2 rating means the flow instrument is in an area in which an explosive mixture is not likely to occur in normal operation and if it occurs it will exist only for a short time. The Category 3 rating indicates that the equipment is intended for use in areas where an explosive atmosphere is unlikely to occur in normal operation and must ensure a normal level of protection. For more information on ATEX ratings, please refer to our article regarding UL Standards for Hazardous Location Industrial Instrumentation.

Cables for Zone 2, Category 3 ATEX Flow Instrumentation to Readout

These cables feature DIN8 to loose ends (or to DIN8 for the extension cable). They are ideal for hardwiring Zone 2, Category 3 flow instrumentation to readouts outside of the hazardous zone.

These cables feature M12 connections to loose ends. They are ideal for hardwiring flow instrumentation to Ethernet including DeviceNet, CANopen, FLOW-BUS, MODBUS M12, and PROFIBUS.
