The XL7 Prime sets the standard for functionality and performance. The XL Prime Series of HMI Automation Controllers offers performance upgrades and a highly secure, modern memory architecture. This is accomplished with a new Horner designed System on Module (SOM) – containing a faster CPU, onboard mass storage and 100% non-volatile memory. The only battery is a small coin cell – simply tasked with maintaining the clock.

The XL7 Prime OCS HMI automation controller is an all-in-one industrial control device. These PLCs from Horner Automation combine control, user interface, I/O, and networking into a single, integrated package. Unique features of the XL7 Prime OCS include:

  • bright, 65,536 color graphical touch sensing LCD display
  • high performance graphic processing and display of complex objects including trends, gauges, meters, and animations
  • advanced control capabilities including floating point, multiple auto-tuning PID loops, and string handling capabilities

XL7 Prime Series HMI Automation Controller

These HMI controllers are designed with a modern memory architecture based on a custom designed SOM (System on Module) utilizing a powerful ARM microprocessor and 100% non-volatile memory for reliability. With high-performance logic engines, these automation controllers offer fast scan times, solving user logic using Variable-based Advanced Ladder logic or the IEC 6-1131 language set. HE-Logic engine features 1MB of application memory with a 0.02mS/K logic scan. Online Programming Mode (making logic changes on the fly without going thru stop mode) is supported.

HMI Automation with Online Programming and Remote Control

Online programming is made available through WebMI, MQTT, and the Horner App, which also allows for remote control, and enables users to make logic changes without stopping the controller. Communication is based on Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, BACnet IP, FTP file transfer, or email. Collected data can be logged including record machine and process variables, which can be saved to a microSD or USB Flash Drive.

Fast Processing and Response Time

The screen is a high-resolution color touchscreen that is capable of displaying detailed graphics and nearly instantaneous screen updates. The XL Prime Series of automation controllers also includes an advanced high-speed counter with four built-in counters supporting frequencies over 500 kHz.
