RS232 Cables for Low Flow Instrumentation

These RS232 cables are for use with IP40 and IP65 rated flow instrumentation as well as with the IQ+FLOW Series. They will connect analog, FLOW-BUS, PROFIBUS, or DeviceNet enabled Bronkhorst flow instruments to RS232 COM Ports. These cables offer RJ45, DB9, and DIN8 connection types, which are ideal for creating secure connections that are still easy to connect and disconnect.

RS232 (Recommended Standard 232) is a standard communication protocol for serial communication. It is most commonly used to connect instrumentation to control devices, such as a DCS, PLC, or SCADA, which allows serial data to be exchanged. An optional RS-232 to USB 2.0 converter is also available: 9.09.122. The USB 2.0 converter is ideal for connecting flow instrumentation directly to a laptop or desktop computer.

The IP65 Ingress Protection rating assigned to this flow instrumentation is defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission. An IP65 rating means the flow instrument is dust-tight and that water can jet towards the enclosure from any direction, without any harm or effects. An IP40 rating means this flow instrumentation offers protection against solid objects 1 mm or larger, such as wires & nails.
