The XL4 Prime sets the standard for functionality and performance. The XL Prime Series of HMI Automation Controllers offers performance upgrades and a highly secure, modern memory architecture. This is accomplished with a new Horner designed System on Module (SOM) – containing a faster CPU, onboard mass storage and 100% non-volatile memory. The only battery is a small coin cell – simply tasked with maintaining the clock.

The XL4 Prime Industrial Lighting Control System is a critical component for building your own industrial light control system. With built-in I/O and expansion options, this powerful automation controller can be programmed to set light cycles, operate fans, and much more. These lighting controllers are ideal for inspection lighting, greenhouses, commercial warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and more. Its ethernet connectivity options allow your operation to be controlled and monitored remotely and is well equipped for data logging to help improve process efficiency and reduce energy waste.

The XL Prime Series features all-in-one control and performs all machine functions in a unified hardware design: Logic Control, Operator Interface, I/O, and Networking. This HMI controller is designed with a modern memory architecture based on a custom designed SOM (System on Module) utilizing a powerful ARM microprocessor and 100% non-volatile memory for reliability. With high-performance logic engines, the XL4 Prime automation controller offers fast scan times, solving user logic using Variable-based Advanced Ladder logic or the IEC 6-1131 language set.

 

Online Programming and Remote Control

Online programming is made available through WebMI, MQTT, and the Horner App, which also allows for remote control, and enables users to make logic changes without stopping the controller. Communication is based on Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, BACnet IP, FTP file transfer, or email. Collected data can be logged including record machine and process variables, which can be saved to a microSD or USB Flash Drive.

The screen is a high-resolution color touchscreen that is capable of displaying detailed graphics and nearly instantaneous screen updates. The XL Prime Series of automation controllers also includes an advanced high-speed counter with four built-in counters supporting frequencies over 500 kHz.

  • Logic engine features 1MB of application memory with a 0.02mS/K logic scan.
  • Online Programming Mode (making logic changes on the fly without going thru stop mode) is supported.
  • Operator Interface features include a 320×240 LCD TFT color graphics display with a high resolution resistive touchscreen, 4 function keys and a system key
  • A USB 2.0 On-the-Go port (mini-B 5pin) is available for programming.
  • A USB 2.0 Host port (A) is available for exchanging files with USB FLASH drives.
  • One (1) RS-232 and one (1) 485 port support RTU / Modbus Commander / Responder (Master / Slave), ASCII In/Out, and PLC / Drive downloadable protocols.
  • Networking features include a built-in 10/100 Ethernet port, and an integrated CsCAN port.
  • All units feature a microSD slot, supporting at least 32GB.
