PR 5531A Loop-Powered LCD Indicator

• PR 5531 indicator uses 4-20 mA current loop for power and easily scales to display the correct process value
• since it does not require separate power wiring, the 5531 is perfect for the remote display of process loops
• 5531A display can mount to panels in the safe area or I.S. / Ex Zone 2 (gas)

Technical Characteristics of the PR 5531A Loop-Powered LCD Indicator

• with a full measurement range of 3.6 to 23 mA, the 5531 is NAMUR NE43 compliant
• display can scale via push-button to any range between -9,999 to 9,999
  • reverse display action is possible
• LCD backlight can be set to half or full intensity for easy viewing in low light conditions
• display only requires 1.5 VDC, (75 Ω loop load), with the backlight off
• input is HART transparent
• front push-buttons can be disabled to prevent unauthorized adjustment

Easy Mounting and Installation

• Once panel mounted with the included gasket, the 5531 provides IP65 ingress protection

Special Conditions for the Safe Use of the PR 5531A Loop-Powered LCD Indicator

For applications in explosive dust atmospheres, the Loop-Power LCD Indicator shall install in such a way that the risk of mechanical danger is low. In addition, it requires protection from exposure to UV light. Avoid electrostatic charging of the plastic display and the label.

Field Enclosure with PR 8501

The field enclosure, PR 8501, complies with industrial standards for efficient protection of process equipment in wet areas up to IP65. When the PR 8501 arrives with a built-in 5531, the unit offers approval for installation in explosive gas atmospheres as well as in explosive dust environments.
