The OPTIFLUX 4400 is an electromagnetic flow meter (mag meter) intended for safety instrumented systems (SIS) and high-accuracy requirements in water and wastewater applications.
The OPTIFLUX 4400 electromagnetic flow meter (EMF), or magmeter, arrives in accordance with IEC 61508 for safety-related water and wastewater applications, up to safety integrity level (SIL) 2/3. It features automated partial proof testing capabilities, which allows extension in the time interval between full proof tests while increasing plant uptime in safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Aside from safety applications, the OPTIFLUX 4400, from KROHNE, is particularly suitable for process applications with high accuracy requirements and difficult flow conditions, for example, pulsating and turbulent flow. Due to its wide selection of lining and electrode materials, it’s ideal for flow measurement and dosing of chemicals and corrosive liquids such as acids. This magmeter can improve conductivity measurement, and operators can also monitor a defined range of conductivity.
The OPTIFLUX 4400 magmeter comes with a wide range of flow and process diagnostics for a high degree of reliability. In addition, it features a best-in-class diagnostic test interval including a fault response time of only two minutes. If running out of spec, this flow meter will issue an alarm to the control room much faster than other EMFs on the market. The OPTICHECK service tool can also provide a full on-site verification of the OPTIFLUX 4400 without process interruption.
