OPTIFLEX 1100 Guided Radar Level Transmitter

OPTIFLEX 1100 Guided Radar Level Transmitter

The OPTIFLEX 1100 C is a 2-wire guided radar (TDR) level transmitter for measuring distance, level, volume, and mass of liquids, solids, and slurries in municipal water and wastewater applications. Its simple, compact design allows operators to quickly assemble the probe and attach it to a threaded connection. It is an affordable solution for applications that do not require a high level of accuracy and is also an excellent alternative to traditional level controls such as RF Capacitance, conductive, and DP transmitters.

  • continuous level measurement of liquids or slurries in buffer, storage, collecting, or recycling tanks
  • cost-effective 2-wire loop-powered TDR level transmitter
  • intuitive quick setup procedure
  • measuring range: 2.3 to 65.5 feet (0.7 to 20 meters)
  • -58 to 212˚F (-50 to 100˚C); -1 to 16 barg (-14.5 to 232 psig)

Description

The OPTIFLEX 1100 is a guided radar level transmitter that relies on Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology. It is ideal for basic municipal water and wastewater storage applications in non-hazardous areas. The OPTIFLEX 1100 level transmitter, from KROHNE, features a compact design and is a higher performing replacement for traditional level instrumentation such as RF capacitance as well as conductive level transmitters.

  • 2-wire loop-powered level meter for liquids as well as solids
  • for general-purpose applications (non-hazardous areas)
  • measuring range for liquids: up to 65.6 feet (20 meters)
  • measuring range for solids: 32.8 feet (10 meters)
  • easy menu navigation without opening the housing
  • probes and also process connections are made of stainless steel
  • for process temperatures up to 210˚F (100˚C) and pressures up to 16 barg (232 psig)
Level Measurement of Liquids

The OPTIFLEX 1100 guided radar level transmitter can measure the level of a wide range of liquids on a variety of installations within the stated pressure as well as temperature range. It does not require any calibration, so it is only necessary to adapt the probe length and do a short configuration procedure.

Level Measurement of Solids

This level transmitter has a Ø4 mm / 0.15″ single cable probe for measuring powders in addition to granulates in silos up to 32.8 feet (10 meters) high. It does not require any calibration, therefore it is only necessary to adapt the probe length and do a short configuration procedure.

Volume Measurement

A strapping table function is available in the configuration menu for volume measurement. Up to 30 volume values can be related to level values. For example:

  • Level 1= 2 meters / Volume 1= e.g. 0.7 m3
  • Level 2= 10 meters / Volume 2= e.g. 5 m3
  • Level 3= 20 meters / Volume 3= e.g. 17 m3

This data permits the device to calculate volumes between strapping table entries.

Features of the OPTIFLEX 1100 Level Transmitter*

  • three types of probes that can all be shortened on site
  • ability to remove the converter under process conditions as well as 360˚ rotation make the display screen easy to read
  • display keypad buttons are directly accessible without opening the housing cover
