InterFazer, Sonar Level Transducer

InterFazer, Sonar Level Transducer

The InterFazer is a sonar-based continuous level measurement transducer that provides reliable level and interface monitoring in tanks for crude oil tanks, chemical plants, and more. Manufactured in Houston Texas, our InterFazer level transmitters have been in continuous service since their initial release in 2002. These ultrasonic level sensors rely on sonar technology, instead of radar, to provide more accurate and reliable continuous level measurement. With a self-cleaning sensor, these level and interface sensors can be used in a wide range of tank level measurement applications.

  • designed specifically for continuous level and interface measurement in crude tanks, chemical plants, etc.
  • durable construction, reliable performance, and long service life
  • no moving parts, hardy stainless steel materials, and no maintenance requirements
  • manufactured in Houston, Texas since 2002

Description

The InterFazer is a sonar level transducer for level and interface measurement in industrial environments for example: crude oil tanks, chemical plants, wastewater tanks, and more. The InterFazer can be top, bottom, or side mounted. Furthermore, a unique process connection allows the probe to install without process interruption. Flanged units are also available. The InterFazer has no moving parts, no mechanical adjustment, and does not require calibration of any kind. Best of all, no maintenance is necessary after installation. This device has been tested in extreme hot and cold weather environments to ensure it’s suitable for use in a wide range of industrial applications.

  • ideal for continuous level (and interface) measurement for tanks
  • reliable construction and performance
  • no moving parts and no maintenance requirements

Low Maintenance Sonar Level Transducer for Tanks

This sensor technology relies on the speed of sonar signal in a fluid to calculate level and detect interface. First, the transducer emits a sonar signal that travels through the liquid. Then, a portion of the signal reflects off the interface, solids, and the surface level and returns to the sensor for reading. The InterFazer has a unique ability to see real-time data  of multiple interfaces from the process. Thus, it is a valuable tool in process characterization and improvement of efficiency and safety.

Sonar-Level-Transducer-USA-Tank-Level-Measurement-Ultrasonic-Level-Sensor-Process-Solutions-CorpInterFazer installation, calibration, and setup are easy and straightforward. Each InterFazer undergoes factory calibration for individual installations, therefore only minor changes during installation are necessary. The probe is available in a 316 stainless steel material for wetted parts as a standard, however other alloys are available for highly corrosive chemicals, strong acids, abrasive media, etc.

The InterFazer Sonar Level Transducer is manufactured in Houston, Texas by Transducer USA. The special design of the InterFazer makes it ideal for continuous Liquid/Liquid and Liquid/Solid interface measurements. All models feature FM certification and conform to refinery and chemical plant hazardous area class requirements. The first commercial units were installed in 2002, and they are still in operation today. These low maintenance sonar level transducers are virtually trouble-free, including those in close loop control. References are available upon request.

Continuous Level Measurement for Tanks with Level Profiling Software

As a standard, each InterFazer, from Transducer USA, comes with free software to make level analysis simple. Operators can easily see the level and interface within the vessel between product media, water, and any solids within the tank. This software plots trend lines and the intersection of each green and red line also indicates the level of each type of media. Furthermore, operators can upgrade to a wireless monitoring software package from Process Solutions Corp., which provides remote access from anywhere in the world with historical datalogging features and more.
