    The pc-board of a mini CORI-FLOW™ Mass Flow device features integrated, adaptable PID control for fast and smooth control of any electronically driven control valve. Depending on the application this could be an integrated direct acting valve or a separately mounted valve for special tasks, e.g. a pressure actuated control valve. Integrated control valves for liquid applications have a purge connection on top of the sleeve that enables easy elimination of air or gas when starting up the system. For liquid dosing Bronkhorst Cori-Tech offers an alternative way to control the flow. Instead of using a control valve, the Coriolis flow meter can be combined with a gear pump, thus eliminating the need of pressurising the liquid source.

    Alternative to Thermal Gas Mass Flow Controllers

    Compared to traditional thermal MFCs, Coriolis based flow controllers offer better accuracy and independence of fluid properties. There are no moving parts or obstructions in the flow path. Furthermore the Coriolis sensor is by nature faster than a sensor based on heat transfer. mini CORI-FLOW™ flow controllers have the same footprint as typical thermal MFCs for equivalent flow ranges. Also electrically the instruments feature the same analog (0-5 Vdc / 4-20 mA) and digital (RS232) outputs as a standard, with optional interface to PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet™, Modbus-RTU or FLOW-BUS.

    As per the Mass Flow Meter, the enclosure of the Mass Flow Controller is rugged, weatherproof (IP65). The PN100 rated control valves are available in normally closed (nc) and normally opened (no) configuration.

    • V11I : Gas flow control valve (no)
    • V14I : Liquid flow control valve (nc)

    EL-FLOW® Select Series Mass Flow Meters/Controllers are thermal mass flow meters of modular construction with a 'laboratory style' pc-board housing. Control valves can either be integrally or separately mounted, to measure and control gas flows from:

    • lowest range 0,014...0,7 sccm
    • up to highest range 8...1670 slm

    The control valve design of the mass flow controller distinguishes itself from competitive designs by its truly modular construction and its ability to be field replaced or changed by the user without any adjustment. The standard valve is normally closed and is available up to Kv-values of 1.5. Normally opened valves can also be supplied.

    For high (differential) pressure applications, patented constructions enable us to handle high flows and/or pressures at differential pressures up to 400 bar in the EL-FLOW® program, a capability which is unique in the market place. More info about high pressure mass flow meters/controllers.

    Digital = Standard

    All models of the EL-FLOW Select series are equipped with a digital pc-board, featuring self-diagnostics, alarm and counter functions, digital communication and remotely adjustable control settings. These digital instruments from Bronkhorst High-Tech offer great flexibility thanks to the "multibus" concept, whereby the instruments can be equipped with an on-board interface with DeviceNet™, Profibus-DP®, Modbus-RTU, EtherCAT® or FLOW-BUS protocol.     Optional Multi Gas / Multi Range

    EL-FLOW Select instruments can be offered with optional Multi Gas / Multi Range (MG/MR) functionality. This option offers greater flexibility for user selection of both flow ranges and gas types, maintaining high accuracy and turndown range for measurement and control. Thanks hereto, users of these instruments can rescale their instruments on site, saving time (and money) for mounting and dismounting. For the convenience of the user, Bronkhorst High-Tech has developed an easy-to-use software tool called "FlowTune" for changing the configuration of Select instruments with activated Multi Fluid / Multi Range option (to be specified at the moment of ordering).

    For applications with high (differential) pressure Bronkhorst High-Tech offers a special range of EL-FLOW® and IN-FLOW Series Thermal Mass Flow Meters and Controllers. Patented PN400/PN700 (5,800/10,000 psi rated) control valves can either be integrally or separately mounted, to measure and control gas flows from:

    • Meters: from 0.2 ... 10 sccm up to 3.3 ... 165 SCFH
    • Controllers: from 0.2 ... 10 sccm up to 2 ... 100 slm

    "Multibus" Digital Mass Flow Meters/Controllers

    In some applications there are more requirements for a modern instrument than analog-based technology can offer. Examples of these requirements are self-diagnostics, alarm and counter functions, digital communication and remotely adjustable control settings. These requirements can only be met with a digital based instrument. Therefore Bronkhorst High-Tech developed a fieldbus based pc-board for their mass flow metering and control solutions. The latest digital instruments offer great flexibility thanks to the "multibus" concept, thanks to which the instruments can be equipped with on-board interface board with DeviceNet™, Profibus-DP®, Modbus, EtherCAT® or FLOW-BUS protocol.

    The new MASS-VIEW® flow meter series are a digital alternative to the conventional VA meters (variable area meters) or rotameters. The MASS-VIEW® flow meter series incorporates a digital bar graph of actual gas flow, which is, thanks to the OLED (organic light emitting diode) technology, clearly visible from all angles, as well as indicating flow units, gas type and totalised figures. In addition to the flow meters for flow monitoring applications, flow regulators and controllers are equipped with an in-built needle valve for manual control of the gas flow. As an extra feature, the flow controller is equipped with a pressure compensation membrane, eliminating the effects of upstream pressure variations.

    The MASS-VIEW® series operates on the principle of direct thermal mass flow measurement, for gas flow ranges from:

    • MASS-VIEW® meters and regulators lowest range 0-0,2 ln/min
    • up to highest range 0-200 ln/min*
    • MASS-VIEW® controllers lowest range 0-0,2 ln/min
    • up to highest range 0-50 ln/min*

    * litres at 0°C and 1 atm(STP)

    It offers a standard accuracy rating of ± 2%RD if the flow is higher than 50% of it’s maximum full scale and ±(1%RD + 0.5%FS) on lower flows, handling pressures up to 10 barg (150 psi). Power consumption is low and mechanical process connections are fitted for straightforward VA meter replacement. The MASS-VIEW®incorporates the latest OLED technology, which gives a brighter readout than LCDs, can be viewed from virtually any angle and has fast signal response times. Alarm settings and the selection of a pre-installed gas or pre-set range are accessed via a user-friendly menu, using a 4-way navigation button mounted on the front plate. An analog output signal enables data logging against various parameters and full accountability of gas flow, such as for shared ring main applications.

  • Equipment manufacturers are looking for compact solutions to monitor or control the gas flow or pressure in their system. Previously, conventional mass flow and pressure meters and controllers have needed a footprint of 1.5", as for instance specified in the NeSSITM system. Now, and in close co-operation with TNO-TPD (leading Dutch institute for applied physics) Bronkhorst High-Tech has developed the IQ+FLOW® mass flow sensor. Due to the use of micro solid state technology (MEMS), Bronkhorst has been able to halve the footprint dimension to 0.75", thereby realizing the ultra compact flow and pressure controllers.

    The EL-PRESS series digital electronic pressure transducers and controllers for gases and liquids have a well-proven compact thru-flow design. The instruments include a diaphragm type piezo-resistive pressure sensor for pressure measurement/control from:
